El módulo de entrada IAC5 se utiliza para detectar niveles de voltaje de CA ON/OFF entre 90 y 140 V CA. Todos los módulos de entrada de CA están diseñados con filtrado en la entrada y un amplificador de histéresis para un alto rechazo de ruido y una conmutación limpia sin transitorios. Cada módulo proporciona hasta 4000 voltios (transitorios) de aislamiento óptico entre las entradas de campo y la salida lógica del circuito.
Los usos y aplicaciones típicos incluyen la detección de la presencia o ausencia de voltaje o la detección de cierres de contactos de fuentes como:
