La unión EtherCAT de 2 puertos EK1122 se puede utilizar en un segmento de terminal EtherCAT en cualquier posición deseada entre los terminales EtherCAT y permite la configuración de topologías en estrella EtherCAT. Se puede realizar un concentrador en estrella EtherCAT modular utilizando varias unidades EK1122 en una estación.

El EK1122 admite el acoplamiento y desacoplamiento de segmentos EtherCAT durante el funcionamiento (Hot Connect).
